This policy explains what personal data tailculator (“we”, “us”) collects when you visit this website, why we collect it, and the choices and rights you have.

Who we are

What data we collect

We do not ask you to create an account, and we do not collect names, email addresses, or any information you type into the calculator — the calculator runs entirely in your browser.

If you consent to analytics cookies (see below), we use Google Analytics 4 to understand how the site is used. Google Analytics collects:

• pages you view and how long you spend on them;
• your approximate location (country and city level), derived from your IP address — Google does not store your full IP address;
• your device type, browser, operating system, and screen size;
• how you reached the site (for example, a search engine or a link).

This data is pseudonymised and is used only in aggregate to improve the site. We do not use it to identify you personally.

Cookies and your consent

When you first visit, a banner asks whether you accept analytics cookies. Until you choose Accept, Google Analytics runs in a restricted, cookieless mode and no analytics cookies are stored on your device. If you choose Reject, it stays that way.

We remember your choice using a single value stored in your browser (tc-consent) so the banner does not reappear on every page. This is a strictly necessary preference and is not used for tracking.

Legal basis

Under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), our legal basis for analytics is your consent (Article 6(1)(a)). No analytics data tied to cookies is collected unless you give it.

How long we keep data

Google Analytics retains user- and event-level data for a limited period (we use Google’s standard retention setting, up to 14 months), after which it is automatically deleted. Aggregated reports that contain no identifiers may be kept longer.

Third parties

We use Google Analytics, a service provided by Google Ireland Limited, which acts as a data processor on our behalf. Google’s handling of data is described in the Google Privacy Policy. We do not sell your data, and we do not share it with any other third party.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to:

• access the personal data we hold about you;
• ask us to correct or erase it;
• object to or restrict its processing;
• withdraw your consent at any time;
• lodge a complaint with a data protection authority — either the one in your own country, or our supervisory authority, the Information and Data Protection Commissioner of Malta (idpc.org.mt).

Withdrawing or changing your consent

To change your choice, clear this site’s cookies and site data in your browser settings, then reload the page — the consent banner will appear again and you can choose differently.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the site evolves. The “last updated” date at the top always reflects the current version.
